Kelli Hand, known as "K-HAND", was a pioneering DJ, producer, and one of the first women to make her mark in Detroit's electronic music scene. Her career established her as the "First Lady of Detroit" in techno and house music. Born in the sixties, K-HAND emerged in the underground scene, inspired by legends like Larry Levan and Ron Hardy. Her unique sound combined the raw energy of Detroit techno with the soulful groove of Chicago house. In 1990, she founded her label, "AUS’ Music", releasing groundbreaking tracks that pushed the boundaries of both genres. Tracks like "Think About It" and "Global Warning" made her a key figure in shaping Detroit's electronic sound. K-HAND was among the few women consistently playing at Detroit’s legendary clubs and festivals, including Movement.
