How's Life Mell G?

DJ Mell G is one of the most authentic artists to emerge from the electronic music realm in recent years. The Hamburg-based DJ, producer, and founder of the label JUICY GANG RECORDS has found her sound in the shades of electro, breakbeat, techno, and EBM, mutating these textures to form her own surgically precise signature. Time to get to know her a little bit better in our How’s Life? series.
How did you get into music? I was just talking about this with an old friend recently, and she said, "Mell, you were always the one who listened to weird music when we were younger." I had almost forgotten about that, but it's true—I was always drawn to music that wasn’t mainstream. In 2016, I moved to Marburg for my studies and joined a collective that organized parties and produced all kinds of music: Rap, Trap, UK Garage, Electro, Ghetto House, Lo-Fi House and more. Thanks to my friends, I got more and more into music and started DJing and producing my own music with garage band. Even now, I still get goosebumps when I think about how it all started, especially since I never imagined that music would end up shaping my entire life. Favourite record to play in front of a crowd at the moment? Upcoming track on the next VA "THE JUIVE VOL. 2" on my label JUICY GANG RECORDS from Human Rebellions Techno Alias "HR101 - Time Shifter" Will come out in October and i'm soooo excited to share 10 new tracks from amazing artists with all of you!  What was that one album your parents used to play?  Grauzone - Eisbär  Any tips for beginners? Just go for it, and try not to compare yourself to others. Your art is uniquely yours—that’s what makes it so special. Trust in yourself and in your creativity. When you feel unsure, share your work with people you trust, and be open for feedback, whether it's positive or critical. If you make a mistake, embrace it as part of the learning process—that’s how you grow. And above all, stay true to yourself, even when it’s difficult.
