Last year, we had Brandon Weems and Craig Hanfield, aka musclecars, over for the release of their debut album. For March’s Set of the Month, we had to give them the credit they deserve. The live recording of their set at We Out Here Festival has just hit the internet, and it’s everything we hoped for. You could listen to musclecars' sets as a conversation between soul and deep house. No matter the size of the venue, they have a way of flipping the space upside down and turning it into a full-blown soul train. For the 2024 edition, Gilles Peterson had to invite the duo from New York. We couldn’t be at the Love Dancin' stage in person, but now that the set is out, it’s on repeat.
