ONE TO WATCH: SUNJU HARGUN

With over fifteen years dedicated to his craft as a DJ, Sunju Hargun has cultivated a unique voice, described as "forward-thinking with chameleonic capabilities," rooted in psychedelic sounds ranging from deep, spaced-out techno, tribal, acid & abstract textures, engaging both mind and body.
Can you tell us a bit about your background and how you got into music? I was raised in Thailand and have spent most of my life in Asia, absorbing a variety of cultures and influences while traveling between Hong Kong, Shanghai, and India. I got into music by meeting the right people at the right time, and a combination of curiosity, connections, and passion has brought me to where I am today.  What’s the most memorable reaction you’ve received from the audience during a set? While playing at a festival in Japan, I was given a beautiful illustration by an audience member. It was a thoughtful gift that perfectly captured the scenery of that moment. Are there any other genres or artists outside of the music you play that you’re particularly into right now? Lately, I've been exploring some bands in the 'Psychedelic Rock' genre, such as Mong Tong from Taiwan and Kikagaku Moyo from Japan.
