Wamdue Kids was a brief but impactful house music project formed by three talents named Chris – Brann, Clarke, and Udoh. Hailing from Atlanta, the trio came into the spotlight in 1995 when they were discovered by Detroit’s Kelli Hand, also known as K-Hand. She released their first three EPs through her Acacia label. Their final album, These Branching Moments, dropped in 1996 via the iconic UK label Peacefrog and marked their most prominent release. The album features lush atmospheric pads, groovy rolling basslines, and tribal percussion that lay the foundation for deep house tracks, often accented with captivating synth or piano melodies. Notably, the record incorporates recognizable samples, such as the drumline from Sun Palace’s “Rude Movements” on the title track and a nod to Jaco Pastorius’ “Portrait of Tracy” on the opening track, “Intro.” Buy On Bandcamp
